دراسة التاريخ الإسلامي دورها وأهميتها في تثقيف الأمم: دراسة تحليلة
Abstract
This research aims to study the role and importance of Islamic history in depth. It focuses on how Islamic history supports the intellectual and social revival of the Muslim community. The study is based on the idea that history is not just a record of past events. Rather, it reflects the life of nations and helps in understanding the present and anticipating the future. The study examines the place of history in Islamic thought by highlighting the attention given by the Holy Quran and the Prophetic Sunnah to the stories of past nations and the lessons learned from their circumstances. It also demonstrates how history has contributed to understanding Islamic law through the knowledge of abrogating and abrogated verses, and to the science of Hadith through the verification of narrations and the distinction between authentic and weak Hadiths.
Furthermore, the research sheds light on history's contributions to revealing God's laws governing civilizations, the reasons for the rise and fall of states, and its role in establishing lessons, avoiding mistakes, and shaping leadership and political awareness. The study examines the current state of history departments in Islamic universities, highlighting their struggles with the absence of authentic Islamic perspective and dominance of distorted curricula that have influenced the historical consciousness of generations. This necessitates methodological restructuring, support for the specialization and expertise.
The study concludes that Islamic history is not merely a source of knowledge, but a strategic imperative for safeguarding identity, reviving civilizational traditions and cultivating leaders. It asserts that historical awareness forms the foundation for any contemporary reform or civilizational project. The findings emphasize that reforming history education and restoring the Islamic perspective within it represent a crucial step towards restoring collective consciousness and reclaiming the Muslim world's place in the course of human civilization.
