الملخص

Generosity and charity are among the important values in Islam, emphasised in both the Holy Quran and the Hadith. This subject aims to clarify the status of generosity and charity in the lives of Muslims and their role in strengthening society.

The Quran and Hadith teach us that generosity is a path to attaining God's pleasure and increasing faith. Giving, whether in the form of money, time, assistance, or a kind word, helps a person purify their soul and draw closer to God. Charity, especially Zakat, is a clear manifestation of generosity in Islam. Zakat is one of the five pillars of Islam and is obligatory for those who possess wealth that reaches the Nisab threshold. They must give 2.5% of their wealth annually to assist the poor, the needy, and others.

Charity in Islam is not limited to money alone; it also includes simple acts such as smiling, helping others, guiding those in need, and removing harm from the road. All these actions are considered charity, allowing everyone, whether rich or poor, to participate in goodness. This strengthens the spirit of cooperation and love in society.

The Holy Quran emphasizes that benevolence is mutual, as God urges believers to be benevolent just as He has been benevolent to them. This allows a person to feel the blessing of giving, just as they feel the blessing of what God has granted them.

In conclusion, generosity and charity in Islam are not merely concepts but practical behaviours that positively impact the individual and society. They help refine the soul, promote justice, and build a cooperative society where people live with love and respect, with each individual contributing to the well-being of others.
