الملخص

This article discusses the origin of Islamic praise poems (madih), highlighting their connection to Sufi poetic arts that express religious emotions and are characterised by deep spirituality. It reviews the most prominent examples of praise poetry throughout history, with a focus on Al-Burda poem by Al-Busiri, which is considered one of the greatest and most famous of these praises. The article further examines its artistic and thematic elements. It also explores the impact of Al-Burda on the Arabic language and literature in terms of popular dissemination, composition, lessons, and poetic innovations, emphasising the status of its poets and their influence on literary and religious heritage. Finally, the article demonstrates the ongoing influence of praise poems in strengthening spiritual and literary aspects, and their deep connection to Sufism and Islamic ethics.
