Abstract

This article examines the educational and social contributions of two eminent philanthropists—Haji Jamal Mohamed Sahib and Khaja Mian Rawther—who played a pivotal role in advancing Muslim education in South India, particularly in Tiruchirappalli. It highlights their efforts in founding and supporting educational institutions, promoting Qur’an translation projects, and establishing scholarly bodies such as Majlis-ul-Ulama. The study underscores how their vision and philanthropy culminated in the establishment of Jamal Mohamed College, which continues to serve thousands of students, reflecting their lasting legacy in educational reform and social upliftment.
