This study examines the pivotal role of Islamic schools in the development and dissemination of the Arabic language in the Indian subcontinent. With the advent of Islam in India, Muslims recognized the necessity of learning Arabic as the language of the Qur’an and Islamic sciences. Consequently, numerous Islamic educational institutions were established to promote the Arabic language and literature. Prominent institutions such as Farangi Mahal, Darul Uloom Deoband, Nadwatul Ulama, Jamia Nizamia, Al-Baqiyat As-Salihat, and Madrasa Jamalia significantly contributed to strengthening the Arabic language through comprehensive curricula integrating religious and linguistic studies. These institutions produced distinguished scholars who enriched Arabic literature and facilitated the spread of the Arabic language through teaching, preaching, and journalism. The study concludes that Islamic schools have been fundamental in preserving and advancing the Arabic language in India while reinforcing the Islamic and cultural identity of the Muslim community.
